THE CALM MAMA METHOD IS MY SYSTEM

As a psychotherapist specializing in maternal mental health, and a mom to three young children, I know the devastating effect of postpartum anxiety and rage. I know from personal experience how you can suddenly be overtaken by anger during a time of life that is supposed to be so happy. And I also know that it doesn’t have to be this way forever.

My personal and professional experience inspired me to found The Calm Mama Method and create Mama Rage: From Anger to Clarity.

My goal is to help new moms who are struggling with anger better understand what is really beneath the anger so they can let go of the shame and guilt, and find the true support they are so in need of, so they can fully engage in (and enjoy!) motherhood.

This all sounds great But…

Is this really going to help with my anger?

 YES! The goal of the course isn’t to control your anger. The goal of the course is to better understand what your anger is trying to tell you so you can work on those areas of need. Don’t worry, I will be teaching you techniques to do all of that. When you start to address these underlying issues, the anger isn’t needed as much and it will naturally decrease. And if it comes back in the future, you will know exactly what to do.

How do I know if I'm right for the course?

Great question! This course is perfect for so many moms, but it’s not right for everyone. If you are struggling with significant anxiety or depression that prevents you from functioning in your daily life, or your anger is manifesting in physical violence, you may be better served working with an individual therapist. If you are having thoughts of hurting yourself, you need to go to your nearest emergency room or call 1-800-273-TALK (in the US) or 1-833-456-4566 (in Canada) right away.

If those more urgent situations don’t describe you, then this course is likely the right fit! If you’re a mom (doesn’t matter how old your kids are), if your anger is a source of frustration for you, if your anger is causing difficulty in your relationships, if you feel like there’s something more going on beneath the anger but don’t know what it is, you’re in the right place!

What if I'm already working with a therapist?

Then you’ll have even more support as you move through the course! The exercises, techniques, tools, and information presented in the course are all great supplements to individual therapy. And since the course isn’t a substitute for therapy, and I’m not acting as your therapist when you’re enrolled in the course, there is no conflict there. I encourage you to discuss your interest in the course with your therapist and make sure they are in agreement that it would be an appropriate addition to your work with them.

Can I do this instead of therapy?

No, this course is not a substitute for therapy. Therapy is completely different. This is a course that will provide you with lots of information and will walk you through specific skills that you can apply. It’s not therapy, and as the course creator, I am not your therapist. 

How much time will I need to take the course?

It is totally up to you how quickly or slowly you move through the course. All of the material will be available immediately upon purchase, and I provide suggested timing for each module. There is value in spending a few days trying out each new technique before you move on, rather than zooming through everything as quickly as possible, so you can really fine tune what works for you and what doesn’t. 

I understand that it feels very urgent for you to get some relief ASAP, and it is urgent because it’s disrupting so many areas of your life. So I’ve put some strategies right at the beginning to help with the anger so you don’t have to wait until you’ve completed the entire course to see changes. 

Do I have to follow a set schedule of classes?

No way! You’re a mom, right? I know the last thing you need is another set obligation. You’ll get access to all of the material, and I’ll provide a suggested pacing guide, but the days/times/pace you take the course is completely up to you. There’s no deadline to complete the course. You’ll have lifetime access to the material.
